It's videos like this that make me feel so happy that my life and career are so intwined in the wonderful world of science. Where else is the spirit of enquiry, and the incessant inquisitiveness of being a human being as celebrated than it is in science? So frequently these days, science can get bogged down in politics, and it can be easy to forget where it came from - the basic human desire to know and to understand.
Fortunately, the latest episode of It's Okay To Be Smart is here to remind us, with some of the most inspirational words ever spoken by some of the most inspirational people to have dedicated their lives to science.
"Isn't that the making of a little scientist? Curiosity, asking questions, not getting the right answer, deciding to find out for yourself, making a mistake, not giving up, and learning patience," says English primatologist Jane Goodall in one of my favourite quotes in the video.
"Curiosity, in some ways, is like the opposite judgement. You can't hate something if you're curious about it. And you can be curious about everything," is another wonderful quote from Hank Green.
Meanwhile, Joe's constructing a wonderful little LEGO replica of NASA's Curiosity Mars rover - the largest rover ever to be sent to the Red Planet - so it can give a LEGO scientist a well-deserved high-five.
If you feel like being inspired today, watch It's Okay To Be Smart above. It will make your day.
